The prize draw is promoted by Sustrans Ltd - registered charity no: England & Wales 326550, Scotland SC039263.

The Scheme is promoted by Sustrans Stockton Active Travel and Stockton Borough Council.

Everyone who completes the online form at (www.stocktonsbigchallenge.org.uk) will automatically be entered into the prize draw.

The prize draw is open to UK residents only aged 18 years or over, excluding employees and the immediate families of the promoter, its agents, its competition sponsors or anyone else professionally connected with the promotion.

Prizes have been donated by Cono Sur Wines, Tees Active Ltd, Hollywood Bowl and Skinnergate Cycles.

Only one entry per person is allowed.

Stockton's BIG Challenge competition runs from Saturday 1st October to Monday 31st October 2011. Competition ends at 23:59 Monday 31st October 2011. Journeys made before the start date or after the closing date will not count.

The prize draws will take place within 7 days of the closing date.

Participants will have until 23:59 on 31th October 2011 to enter the details for journeys to the website. After this time entries into the competitions will not be registered.

The promoters will determine the prizewinners by an independently supervised draw at their sole discretion. All such decisions will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

Prizewinners will be notified by either email or phone by Friday 11th November 2011

The promoters reserve the right to re-allocate or to withdraw a prize if the winner of the prize fails to claim ownership of the prize within 30 days of the notification being received from the promoter.

If a prizewinner decides not to accept any prize, they will notify the promoters of any such decision in writing and will, with effect from the date of such notice, forfeit any and all claim to the prize awarded but declined. No alternative prize will be awarded. The promoters reserve the right to deal with the prize declined in such manner as they think fit.

The promoters do not accept responsibility for lost or delayed entries.

To register an organisation (employer) you must have approval from your organisation's management to do so.

Organisations and departments will be classified as a team according to the number of staff employed by the registered organisation or department. The size categories are: Very Small (3 to 6), Small (7 to 19), Medium (20 to 49), Large (50 to 199), Very Large (200 to 499), Corporate (500).

Organisations and departments with 1 or 2 employees can register into the Challenge. Team members will be eligible to win prizes, but the organisation will not be eligible to win a team prize.

Once a team is registered, individuals from that organisation or department may register their individual participation into that team.

If a team's size increases to more than the team's size category, Challenge for Change will move the team into the appropriate size category.

Individual and team registration can continue throughout the duration of the Challenge period. The closing date for registration is 23.59 Monday 31th October 2011.

A valid walking trip is defined as a participant walking for a minimum of 5 minutes. Walking trips do not include use of stationary running machines.

A valid cycle trip is defined as a participant cycling for a minimum of 2 mile on a pedal bicycle. Cycle trips do not include use of motorcycles, scooters or stationary cycles.

Walking and cycle trips must occur within the Challenge period to contribute to the results.

The prize allocation will be awarded as follows: Active travel prize - for all active travel journeys. The BIG Challenge bike or walk to work prize draw– for anyone entering work related journeys. Weekly spot prize winners – for all journeys in which you would have previously used the car. Best walking or cycling related stories. Chosen from your entries on the website. Organisation & Department Winners – For local businesses; decided on the percentage of staff participating and the number of journeys entered. Organisations and departments which are in first, second, or third position may be requested to provide a letter from their organisation's HR department or a senior manager, to confirm the exact number of staff that are employed in the winning organisation or department.

The teams in first, second and third place will be awarded a Challenge certificate.

Where two or more teams achieve equal highest percentage participation the winning team will first be decided upon by the workplace with the highest number of journeys logged and if a draw still exists the winner will be decided upon by an independently supervised draw at their sole discretion. All such decisions will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

The winning teams will be announced via email and published at www.stocktonsbigchallenge.org.uk on Friday 11th November 2011. Winners’ details will be made available for a period of six weeks from the end of the Challenge period.

The prize winners may be asked to participate in publicity and promotional activities.

The promoters reserve the right to cancel this scheme at any stage, if deemed necessary, or if circumstances arise out of its control.

Data protection: We promise that any information given will be used by Sustrans, Stockton Borough Council and NHS Stockton on Tees only and not passed to any other organisation.
